Like the title say im new to growing jalapeno peppers and from what i've googled, I can't tell if I can leave it to continue growing on the vine or if I should pick it now. It has been getting a lot more purple over the last day

It’s just continuing to ripen. They are green to start and if you leave them to fully ripen, they will eventually turn red. You can pick it now or wait for it to turn fully red. Your choice.
If you want ripen jalapenos, wait until it is red, if you want green jalapenos you can pick it now if you want, the purple coloration has nothing to do with the ripeness of the pepper, it is anthocyanin, which simply put is the peppers sun protection.
