Surfing Crab is moving into the once-empty suite that formerly housed Ooh La La, the defunct Korean barbecue concept that was locked out by property management, Dhanani Private Equity Group, in January 2026. Signs teasing the new Surfing Crab location have been posted on the front doors of the space to announce that the business will be coming soon.Β

Windows at the new Surfing Crab have been papered over, suggesting that interior changes may be underway to transform the suite into a Cajun seafood restaurant. MySA contacted representatives to confirm details about the incoming eatery, but we did not receive a response as of publication. In July, Vicki LevyΒ Adelstein, a broker with Partners Real Estate, shared on her social media that a Surfing Crab location was coming to Park North soon, with no official opening date.

Surfing Crab has a dozen locations across Texas, including one off I-10 in San Antonio, with two additional spots in the works for Corpus Christi, according to the company’s website. The restaurant chain’s menu varies by location, but at the established San Antonio location, dishes include crab and various seafood boils fried fish baskets, fried rice, New England clam chowder and po’boys.
