This happened a week before Christmas as my chili farmer/hot sauce lover friend invited me over a drink with our other friends. Once I arrived, he told me that he has something sweet and he said that I really need to try it.
A quick background on me. I am a hot sauce maker here in our country that tasted some super hot pods from yellow habanero to carolina reaper. I really loved the distinct tastes of every peppers I have tasted BUT, I cannot really handle that much heat and my acidity always acts up after tasting one or so.
He enthusiastically came back to us holding a black vial of something I haven’t seen before in my life. He pulled out the dropper, let me smell the aroma and I was surprised that it kinda smelled like vanilla with some flowery hint. He added a small drop of darkish brown liquid to a snack he offered me and ate it without any questions. Once I put the snack in my mouth, he revealed that the thing he put in my food was a [Sigbin Fire Drops](http://imgur.com/a/Kzb5T6B), a carolina reaper extract made by our fellow hot sauce maker here in our country. I chewed and chewed for thirty seconds but I still cannot taste any of the flowery taste that the carolina reaper possesses and shits went south after I swallowed. It started as a slight burning sensation from my throat down to my stomach and after a few seconds, my first of many tears dripped down from my eyes. I started drinking everything potable and cold drinks inside their house and he started laughing like a maniac. Every after the cold drinks, the heat just comes back hotter than before and I started to feel that my throat is burning like hell. After 5 minutes I just sat down with them and embraced the pain. Suddenly, everything felt calm, but the burning sensation was still there, and I felt peace for the first time in my life. I can see them laughing their asses off but I cannot hear them and the music blaring out of the speaker. I felt the cold air brushing up my skin and gave me a sensation I have never felt before. They told me that I stayed still for about 10 minutes before I snapped back into reality like nothing happened and my eyes was like dilating like I was high on something. It was so surreal!
I later told my friend that I will never taste anything he will offer me the next time I’ll visit his house and have a drink and he just laughed it off.
It was a very painful experience but fun at the same time. It was a different experience when I first ate a tiny piece of Carolina Reaper pepper because it was just pain and stomach discomfort for almost an hour.
TL;DR: My friend tricked me to consuming a carolina reaper extract and that was the first time I felt peace in my life.
