Brewingz Sports Bar & Grill, a Houston-area restaurant chain, appears to have shuttered all of its locations. News of the chain’s demise had been circulating social media for about a month.
Chron’s attempts to call each of the remaining six Houston-area locations of Brewingz led to disconnected phone line signals, and a lockout notice at the Uvalde location for unpaid rent was shared on social media. The property manager of that location declined to comment to Chron.
Additionally, the restaurant chain’s Facebook and Instagram accounts have been inactive since Sept. 20. Brewingz, through its available email channels, has not responded to Chron’s request for comment.
According to public documents, sales tax permits for Brewingz’s operating companies as listed by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, GSM Wings, were all listed as inactive. Only two of the chain’s six remaining locations had active TABC permits. The rest had been surrendered.
The first Brewingz opened on FM 1960 in the Humble area. It later opened another location along the Eastex Freeway near Kingwood and Porter. At its height, the chain boasted more than 20 locations across Greater Houston with an additional storefront in San Antonio.
In June 2025, Benchmark International, a merger and acquisition advisory firm, announced it had helped facilitate the sale of GSM Wings LLC to GPC Investments, a New Jersey-based company that specialized in manufacturing and distributing healthcare supplies.
That same year, US Foods filed a lawsuit against GSM Wings, alleging the company was owed money for produce and other related products and services. The judge entered a default $3.1-million judgement against GSM in January 2026 and later denied the company’s attempt to vacate the ruling in July.
